School Admissions

Parents and carers considering applying to the school can arrange a visit to view the school. If you would like to do this, please contact the school office who will arrange a time for you to be shown around during the normal school day.

Children become eligible for Nursery following their third birthday as soon as places become available. Places in Nursery are allocated on date of birth order and priority is given to those living in the local area and those with siblings in school. Allocation of a place in Nursery does not automatically guarantee a full-time place in school.

Separate admission arrangements, administered through the Local Authority, are in operation for allocation of places in full-time education. Children to be admitted in Reception need to be 5 by the end of their first academic school year, i.e. date of birth 1st September - 31st August. An application pack will be sent out, in good time, to allow you to select an order of preference for the school which you would like your child to attend.

September 2027 Intake

In accordance with the School Admission Regulations and the School Admissions Code, the St Bartholomew’s CE MAT is consulting on its proposed admission arrangements for 2027-28 for Fairhaven Primary School.

Your opinions are important to us, and we are keen to receive your comments on our admission arrangements before they are formally approved.

St Bartholomew’s CE MAT proposes that that pupil admission number (PAN) for Fairhaven Primary School be reduced from 45 to 30 from September 2027. This means that the number of places available for children in Reception in September 2027 and all subsequent Reception cohorts will be 30. For children who already have a place in the school, the year groups will not change.

This is the only proposed change to the admission criteria; all other criteria will remain the same.

You are invited to have your say on the proposed Admission Arrangements and comments can be made via email to Sally Nutt, Executive Personal Assistant to the CEO at snutt@stbartsmat.co.uk.

You may alternatively complete the following Survey (which will go live at midday on Friday 7 November) or send your comments by post to:

Sally Nutt, Executive Personal Assistant to the CEO, Woodfield Primary School, Woodfield Avenue, Penn, Wolverhampton, WV4 4AG

The consultation runs from midday on 7 November 2025 until midday on 19 December 2025. Any comments must be received by 12:00pm on 19 December 2025 at which point the consultation process will end.
