Extra time for threes and fours
All three-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare from the term after their third birthday. The Extra time for threes and fours entitlement allows parents to claim an additional 15 hours if they each work a minimum of 16 hours per week at the national minimum or living wage, which would make individual earnings of approximately £125+ a week.
This means 30 hours per week during term time. If parents aren't entitled you will carry on receiving the funded 15 hours of childcare which is available for all families in England.
The term after their 3rd birthday will fall within the dates outlined below:
-
Children born in the period 1st April to 31st August are eligible to start Nursery in the term beginning on or following 1st September after the child's third birthday.
-
Children born in the period 1st September to 31st December are eligible to start Nursery in the term beginning on or following 1st January after the child's third birthday.
-
Children born in the period 1st January to 31st March are eligible to start Nursery in the term beginning on or following 1st April after the child's third birthday.

Allocation of Places
Nursery parents apply directly to the school for a place in our nursery (see link below). We operate a waiting list for parents who are interested in a place for their child. At present we only take children who are three years of age and older. Priority will be given to those parents requesting the full entitlement, followed by 15-hour only entitlement, but we welcome all applications for consideration. We may also be able to accommodate some flexibility within your 30-hour entitlement e.g. more than 15 hours but less than 30 hours per week. Parents not entitled to the full 30 hours can pay for additional hours subject to availability.
Please note that a place in our nursery setting does not guarantee a place into our Reception class. The local authority administers Reception places - please click on the link below for Admission criteria:
