  • Work to do at Home

    We have had a few enquiries about work packs and work for children at home.  All work was posted last Friday on our website:

  • As a result of the MET office issuing a Level 2 heatwave warning and advise from the Public Health Department children WILL NOT be allowed out without HATS, SUNCREAM & WATER BOTTLES. This will apply all week with immediate effect.

    Sports Day will be POSTPONED due to the heavy rain overnight and the forecast for today. We will rearrange and publish a new date in due course.
  • Sun Safe Schools Accreditation

    Last year we successfully completed all stages of the Sun Safe Schools programme.

     

    The Sun Safe Schools Accreditation Scheme has been developed by national skin cancer charity; Skcin. The key objective of the charity is to prevent skin cancer through education, promote early detection and reduce the soaring incidence rates in the UK. Our mission via Sun Safe Schools is to assist primary schools in their duty of care to provide a sun safe environment and to educate children on the importance of sun safety, to influence behaviour and ultimately, save lives.

     

    In order to renew our accreditation (which we have to do annually) we are required to share the policy and a pre-written letter with parents.  Some parents feedback last year that they found the letter condescending.  We apologise if you feel this way, but in order to gain the accreditation we have to use the pre-written letter as-is.

  • A Royal Celebration!

    Reminder:

     

    Royal Wedding Week

     

    Thursday 17th May

    Reception and KS1 children will be able to come to school dressed as Princes & Princesses.

    For those who have school dinners on Thursday 17th May Mrs Rowley will be serving a ‘chicken nugget box meal’ and making special Royal Wedding cakes.

    Mrs Rowley will be running a competition to decorate a crown. Templates will be given out in school next week.

     

    Friday 18th May

    KS2 children can come to school in Mufti. We are asking them to wear RED, WHITE and BLUE to celebrate the wedding. Friday will be pizza as normal.

     

     

  • Year 6 London Trip

    The Leavers' trip to London will go ahead.

     

    Despite the deadline for returning forms being yesterday (Wednesday 25th April), not all pupils have returned their forms.  In order to secure our booking we need to pay for the London Eye tickets tomorrow.  Therefore, we will only book tickets for those who have returned their forms.  If you have not returned your form (reminders have been given twice by class teachers), please return by 9am tomorrow to secure your place on the trip.

  • Sun Cream and Sun Hats

    Please remember to send your child to school with a wide-brimmed sun hat and sun cream already applied. When sending in bottles of sun cream, please label with your child's name.

  • Heatwave

    With temperatures forecast to be in the mid- to high-twenties for the rest of this week, please ensure that children bring a wide brimmed sun hat to school, apply sun block before coming into school and bring sun block with them to reapply at lunchtime.
