Foundation Subjects at Fairhaven

At Fairhaven we pride ourselves on the fact that we have never narrowed the curriculum we deliver to our children.  We passionately believe in the importance of enabling our children to have access to a broad and balanced curriculum not only in the classroom, but one which extends beyond the school's walls, beyond the school's site and into the community and world around us for which we are preparing our pupils to become active and responsible citizens of the future.

We want to enable our pupils to discover their hidden talents and give them opportunities to discover their unknown talents and whether they are a geographer, historian, musician, sportsperson, linguist, scientist, technician or artist.

Our curriculum is a knowledge and skills curriculum.

Our Curriculum Intent Statement

Please see each class' web page for individual curriculum newsletters which give more detail about what is learned in each subject for each topic.

At Fairhaven Primary School all class teachers are responsible for providing a curriculum that is suitable for all pupils in the class, including those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) with support from the SENCo. We have high expectations for all pupils and are committed to ensuring our curriculum complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. Our inclusion statement emphasises the importance of providing an inclusive learning environment for all pupils including those with SEND. Additional information on this can be found in our Special Needs Information Report (which can be found by clicking here) and our Equalities Policy (which can be found by clicking here).

Further information about our Foundation Subjects Curriculum can be obtained from the curriculum leader named on each subject's page.  Please contact the school office by phone (01384) 818385 or by e-mail: info@fairhaven.dudley.sch.uk
